Resumen:
Mediation is becoming increasingly important due to the need to collaboratively solve problems with those from different backgrounds. This chapter provides a short introduction to the concept of mediation in language education, conceptualized as the skill to navigate different cultural and linguistic backgrounds. A curricular example of mediation shows how students in Argentina and Italy mediated concepts, applied mediation strategies, and were able to reflect on mediation skills as they tried to answer the questions whether graffiti and murals in their respective locations represented art or vandalism.
