This essay will use two photographs as a starting point in the study of events surrounding the II Bienal de São Paulo, organized by the Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo (MAM-SP) in 1953. Reconstructing the context in which these pictures of Argentinean abstract artists (Gyula Kosice y Lidy Prati) were taken will shed light on a crucial episode in the history of Argentine-Brazilian relations and abstract art.
