Resumen:
The effect of potassium sorbate addition to polymer matrixes of native corn starch on film properties was evaluated. Films were obtained by casting method from gelatinized starch suspensions (5% w/w) with glycerol (1.5% w/w) and potassium sorbate (0.3% w/w). Active films resulted more yellow than films without sorbate. UV films barrier properties were improved by sorbate incorporation. It was confirmed that this additive has an additional effect as plasticizer on film matrixes. Diffusion kinetic additive to a semisolid medium was studied. It was demonstrated that sorbate matrix incorporation resulted more effective, compared with its application by immersion or spray methods
