Resumen:
This article presents the results of acollaborative interdisciplinary multi-method research project onpsychosocial risks and communication in the workplace that involvedthe Union of Metro Workers in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The objectiveof this article is twofold: on the one hand, to understand anapparent contradiction in the results of the quantitative survey, which showed very high levels of stress and, at the same time, veryhigh levels of satisfaction. To do this, we conducted a discourseanalysis of in-depth interviews with subway workers. On the otherhand, the results of this analysis allowed us to coin the concept of"double stance discourse" as a way of describing a specifictype of response that differentiates perspectives towards the issueof job satisfaction, personal and collective. We conclude that these "to me" and "to others" responses are a resourcefor individuals to reconcile, in discourse, conflictive individualand social experiences of working conditions.
