Resumen:
After the 2007 teaching-learning process of the Asignature "Elements of Organic and Biological Chemistry" evaluation, it was shown that was necessary the implementation of strategies to foster a dynamic and constructive learning and the improvement of the analysis ability, observation, results evaluation, reasoning and critical thinking by students. Objectives: From these assessment, modifications were made in order to improve the quality of education. Methods: a) Seminars, consisting on the groupal analysis and discussion of a scientific work, b) Practical work: learning was raised as a small research project between teachers and students from isolation to characterization of biomolecules. c) Organic chemistry practical work were reorganized d) Bibliography: Bibliographic material was published (Ser. Monográ. y didáct. Vol 47). In order to evaluate the results the percentage of students who regularized and/or promoted the subject from 2006 to 2009 were analyzed. Results: An increase in the number of students who regularized the subject was observed. About 20% from 2006 to 2007, 40% from 2006 to 2008 and 50% in 2009.
