Corn ( Zea mays L) is one of the main grain crop of Argentina being affected by fungal diseases taht decreawse performance production among with stands out the stalk and roots basal rot caused by a complex of necrotrofics fungus ( Fusariumv erticillioides, Fuariumg ramienarum Macrophomina phaseolina , Phoma terrestris, Stenocarpella maydis, Colletotrichum graminicola) The objective of this work ws tod etermine the stalk and roots basal rot and lodging intensity in corn commercial fields of the Center South region of Cordoba during the cropping season 2009/2010 and more prevalent causala gents. the incidence of the PT yR was qunatified in 45 maize fields before harvet (R8) . incidence values were between 12 nd 89 % and more frequent causal agents were F.v erticillioides, F. graminearum ( 100% of the anlyzed fields). Stands out the detection of sexual status/stage of the both Fusarium species G. zeae and G. moniliformis being the lsat one , the first event in Argentina corn stalks  at commercial fields. Found in addition Macrophomina phaseolina 35 % , Stenocarpella maydis 26% C. graminicola 44 % and Phoma terrestris 48 % in the evalauted fields
