  Abstract The purpose of this work was to study bilayer characteristics of ternary polymerized or non polymerized mixtures (DXPC/DC8,9PC/Chol), with DXPC corresponding to DMPC, DPPC or DSPC at a molar ratio of 1:1:0.2.  Bilayer characteristics were assayed by DSC and Merocyanine 540 (MC540) in order to analyze membrane state. Vesicle size was determined by dynamic light scattering (DLS) photocorrelation spectroscopy  and citotoxicity was performed on L-929 cell line.
