Internationalized academics in Argentina: A privilege or an option?

This presentation aims to characterize the Argentinian academics who could be included within the group of "internationalized academics". The main question guiding the study is how personal and professional conditions limit or enhance the international profile of academics. On the other hand, it is interesting to analyze to what extent internationalized academics consider that the institution in which they work has collaborated in the acquisition of that status or if it is the product of an individual effort. Finally, we are interested in seeing to what extent they are more or less satisfied with their profession, compared to the non-internationalized group. In order to carry out this study, after reviewing the incipient progress in the internationalization of higher education internationalization of teaching and research, to define the group of internationalized academics. This group is compared with the "local" group, through various independent variables: personal (gender, family composition, age / generation), professional (title, time dedicated to academic activity, rank, satisfaction), and institutional (importance of the international for the institution).
