Resumen:
Alzheimerfs Disease is the most common cause of dementia in adult life. The interaction of Amyloid ƒÀ]peptide (AƒÀ) with cell membranes is believed to play a central role in the pathogenesis of the disease.Trehalose, a disaccharide of glucose, has been shown to be effective in preventing the aggregation of proteins and protecting cells against stress. Langmuir monolayers, fluorescence microscopy, molecular dynamics simulations and liquid crystal imaging were utilized to study the effects of trehalose on the aggregation of AƒÀ and its interaction with DPPG monolayers.ƒÀ]peptide (AƒÀ) with cell membranes is believed to play a central role in the pathogenesis of the disease.Trehalose, a disaccharide of glucose, has been shown to be effective in preventing the aggregation of proteins and protecting cells against stress.
