Resumen:
A response surface method design was applied to optimize a-L-rhamnosidase production by Verticillum tenerum. Tryptone (Try) and soybean meal (SM) concentration were multivariate according to a Doelhert design. The central point was (1) = 3.125 g/l and (2) 1.25 % p/v. A relative maximum was obtained at 4 g . l-1 of tryptone and 0.5 % of soybean meal where the enzyme activity obtained was 3.5 mU . ml-1.   Keywords: a-L-rhamnosidase, Verticillum tenerum, alkalophilic enzymes, enzyme production, Doehlert design.
