Lived religion and spiritual narratives: the case of Cordoba, Argentina

This paper explores some aspects on how people from Cordoba/Argentina experience the transcendence in their everyday practices. First, we shortly describe the religious environment of Cordoba, with some references to the Argentinian context in general. Then, we focus on the spiritual narratives of people from Cordoba, and we report preliminary analysis from 20 in depth and object elicitation interviews. The data was collected as part of the project ?The Transformation of Lived Religion in Urban Latin America: a study of contemporary Latin Americans? experience of the transcendent?, granted by the John Templeton Foundation. Finally, we present some reflections and concerns on how people talks about the spiritual and religious experiences in their own lives.
