Resumen:
Abstract: The accounts about of the mithic Virgin of Andacollo have existed in the low lands of The Andes since very earlier times, in the spainard conquest. Our knowledge has been constructed on the basis of an historic research and an oral tradition widespread along the regions of argentine and chile. This Virgin was (and is) the primary subject of devotion at a majority of shrines in both regions, and, the anicient legends sometimes combine the history with roots of the indian tradition. This research is only a step in the rigth direction for reaching the goal of the analysis the anicients andean cults as a stuctured whole, but this task must be acomplished only through the collaboration of scholars from different disciplines.
