Education and vocational training in Argentina and Canada: on the importance of comparing workers' paths in different societies.

The comparison of the workers´ educative and work trajectories in two countries of different latitudes and development contexts, involves several interpretation risks if it is not put in balance some historic and economic references of the population and if it is not characterized the labour market dynamics. The research that support this comparative study was developed from a methodological strategy that considered different steps: a) a state of art about the diagnosis, studies and researches of the mentioned issues in Canada and Argentina; and also b) the search of quantitative secondary information that would allow to characterize both countries and c) the further consideration of the theoretical approaches of the groups of reference that have generated this scholar exchange - CSEW-OISE/UT and the own PEET-IICE/UBA. This paper has been organized through the development of four topics: - the relationships between the productive restructuring of work processes and its implications on education and training in the last decades in both countries. - a diagnosis based on secondary information and an exhaustive search of studies and researches in both countries regarding the labour market and education in Argentina and Canada. - the identification of matches, differences and common standpoints in the theoretical and conceptual approaches on education and work training - the common challenges regarding young and adult workers´ right to education in Argentina and Canada.
