Resumen:
This paper have two general objectives: 1) this presentation will summarize the basic empirical and theoretical ideas of the Work and Lifelong Learning in a Changing World: On the importance of comparing workers´ trajectories in different societies Canada and Argentina and 2) the proposal will present the first compartive results about the application ArCa Wall in the Gran Buenos Aires (metropolitan urban area)in comparison with Toronto Wall. This research proposal is aware that a central problem is the differential impact on the life of the population of the economic and social situations in Canada and Argentina. In this section we will summarize some of the main features of the diagnosis of the labour market and the economy in Argentina. We will also depict the educational needs and the educational profile of the economically active population which make up the context of interpretation in Argentina. This will highlight some differences regarding the life trajectories of the young and adult workers in Argentina and Canada. We are certain that, despite these structural differences, the comparison of workers’ behaviour, the identification of similar groups, the determination of regularities in and/or capacities of response to hurdles and hardships and the resistance can further a thorough comprehension of the education of youths and adults in both countries, and will determine alternatives for action.
