In this dissertation, I will present the lines of research that I have been following around Chinese migrations and the teaching of putonghua to descendants of Chinese migrants in the City of Buenos Aires. I would also like to present some future lines of research (although they will not be necessarily carried out by me, but I think they should be part of a research agenda around more general questions related to linguistics and Chinese languages) and, finally, possible crosses with Chinese colleagues.
