Resumen:
In previous works we introduced optical encodersbased on non-diffractive beams (NDB) and showed that theyextend the mechanical tolerance limits beyond the marks ofthe optical encoders technologies currently in use. However,in order to make it suitable for commercial fabrication,the alignment of the light sensor with the NDB should beautomatized. In this work we present a new design forthe pixels and an algorithm implemented in an FPGA thatfinds the center of the beam. This algorithm is the firststep to automatically align the sensor and is validated usingcommercial simulation tools.
