Resumen:
Peripheral blood samples from Pha/acrocorax bransfieldensís (7 males), Larus domínícanus (4 males¬5 females) and from Chíonis alba (6 males-5females) were taken during the Antarctic expeditions of ´97-´98 and ´98-´99 summers in the Jubany Station and Orkney Station respectively. To obtain of mitotic metaphases long time cultures of Iymphocytes were made. P. bransfieldensís, 2n=72, L. domínicanus,2n=68, C. alba, 2n=76. Although the present work constitutes the first description of the number and the chromosome morphology of these three species, it is still necessary to make more studies with different types of differentials staining, like C and G bands, that allows to understand in the future the mechanisms that happend during the course of their evolution.
