Background and objectives: Dietary strategies, includingthe use of probiotics as preventive agents that handle the intestinalmicrobiota and/or modulate the function of adipose tissue, would be suitable tools for the prevention or treatment of diferent condi-tions associated with obesity. In this context, our aim was to evalu-ate the efect of Lactobacillus fermentum CRL1446 (CRL1446) on metabolic and immunological parameters and on the composition of intestinal microbiota in a model of obesity induced by a high-fat diet (HFD).
