Resumen:
Rice(Oryza sativa L.) is a very importantbasic food crop in several developing countries. This cereal, mainly the brownrice, is rich in vitamins, fibers and minerals, making it a nutritionallyvaluable food. The rice quality is strongly associated with the authenticationof geographical origin. For this reason, traders and consumers are especiallyinterested to know the origin of this type of product1. In thiscontext, this work focuses on applying the Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy(LIBS) for authentication of brown rice by their geographical origins usingsupervised classification algorithms.
