Resumen:
Hospital facilities are considered to be some of thebuildings with the highest consumption per unit of floor area, dueto the use of the functions performed in each hospital area andthe need to ensure strict conditions for the habitability of itsusers. On the other hand, it has been detected that in the hospitalnetwork there are different construction systems in terms of thecharacteristics of the building envelope for the same hospitalareas. This is due to the fact that they have been designed indifferent time contexts, responding to different criteria andregulations. In the current context, which leads to the need toprovide energy efficiency solutions in a strategic way, this workprovides a tool for the detection of the situations that presentgreater heat loss by the building envelopes. Thus, by applying thecalculator developed to the same hospital area distributed indifferent buildings, an indicator of heat loss through the buildingenvelope per unit of floor area is obtained. The results achievedmake it possible to direct specific measures to the most criticalsituations, which will make it possible to save resources forbuilding envelope refurbishment when implementing alternativeenergy strategies.
