Resumen:
Mössbauer effect is a phenomenon sensitive to many other physical phenomena, having opened opportunities for deep and meaningful research in a large number of scientific and technological areas. Since its discovery in 1957, important improvements and developments have been made in all aspects of Mössbauer effect spectroscopy. The G3M was involved in a straightforward development inspired mainly by C. L. Chien?s experiments on thermal scans at a fixed 𝛾 ray energy. These experiments were simple and able to nicely determine magnetic ordering temperatures even in metastable phases. Furthermore, they implicitly suggested that Mössbauer effect could be recorded within a more general frame, while sweeping the temperature-𝛾 ray energy surface in a custom-designed manner chosen to highlight a specific phenomenon under a time-saving strategy. In this talk we briefly describe Mössbauer scans on temperature- and applied magnetic field- 𝛾 ray energy surfaces and show their easy implementation. We will illustrate their potentiality through some examples of magnetic nanomaterials studies: the in situ development of an iron oxide layer on Fe cores during the fabrication of biocompatible, high magnetic response core/shell nanoparticles, and the unblocking of magnetic moments during the melting of aqueous magnetic colloids.
