Resumen:
The context of this work is thefollowing: Primarily, to compare themicrobial communities inhabiting costal marine sediments from two types ofareas, pristine areas with polluted ones. In this sense were studied fourgeographic locations: Potter Cove, Ushuaia bay, Svalbard Archipelago (Norway) andVärtahamnen fiord (Sweden).Secondarily, and the main objectof this communication, was to analyze the microbial community composition inPotter Cove marine sediments and some genes of interest as introns, alginateliase, rhodopsin, etc. Here two sample sites, located inthe inner cove near of Potter stream and separated by one hundred sixty fivemeters were studied. In addition, three samples for each site, separated by nomore than fifty centimeters were taken and considered as replicates.
