Resumen:
In an essay devoted to the transition from silent films to talkies , Rick Altman has proposed the concept of " historiography of the crisis" (crisis historiography ). According to Altman , the media of communication go through phases of " identity crisis " , as the transition from silent to sound exactly, along which are subject to a process of legal and institutional reconstruction . For the scholar of the media, the analysis of these phases is particularly decisive moments of "crisis" of a medium represent as many access points to the understanding of the main conflicts in the game. This is true even for the crisis of an economic nature . Traumatic and painful for entire populations , they also represent an opportunity to take a new look on the reality that surrounds us. This article aims to make a sort of short " historiography of the crisis" of the media system of Argentina from 1999 to the present. At this stage, the Argentine society as a whole was challenged by the effects of an economic crisis among the toughest in recent history. As we shall see , it also had a strong impact on the media system , pushing it to a "crisis of identity" with which compliance will help to understand some of the central features . Such work is particularly urgent in a period like the one we are experiencing, in which the entire Western world , and Europe in the first place , is shaken by an economic crisis comparable in scope to some extent (though no longer a national scale but global ) that crossed from Argentina in 2001-2002. Questions about how the system of the Argentine media reacted and became part of an economic system in crisis, in this sense, is to be seen also as a way to become more aware and better equipped to find in the understanding of this present.
