Resumen:
In a recent contribution ( [1]), the authors have proposed a model for the numerical simulation ofductile fracture problems. It is based on a material response characterized by a constitutive relation fora progressively cavitating elastoplastic solid, which represents the phenomenology observed in this typeof fracture. An embedded displacement weak discontinuity is introduced when the condition for lossof ellipticity, in the material response, is met. The resulting localized deformation is given a specifiedfinite thickness which introduces a length scale in the problem, providing a regularization of the postlocalizationresponse. An important feature of this model is that the same constitutive relation is usedinside the band, in the post-localization regime. Thus, the traction-opening relation across the banddepends on the stress triaxiality.
