Resumen:
A series of seminars on modern issues of Coordination Chemistry related to electron transfer processes and mixed-valent complexes will be imparted to PhD students of the group directed by Prof. Bermejo, and others from the same department. Among these issues, the theories of Marcus and Hush on intramolecular electron transfer process will be discussed. Related phenomena concerning photophysical and photochemical properties of transition metal complexes in low oxidation states will also be addressed. A research project is expected to be designed related to the synthesis and properties of new supramolecular systems in which efficient photoinduced reactions relevant to artificial photosynthesis can be carried out. Special emphasis will be given to the subject of rhenium and ruthenium complexes - on which the group of Prof. Katz at the National University of Tucumán had made significant contributions - and that of manganese complexes - on which the group of Prof. Bermejo at USC had made important studies.
