Resumen:
STRs have been successfully used in animal genetic identification, such as parentage, forensic and food control. However in the last years, SNPs have gained traction. An efficient SNP identification system requires a marker set with enough power to identify individuals. In this study, information obtained from a set of 95 SNPs recommended by the ISAG/ICAR in Taurine and Cebuine breeds was analysed. Samples (N=519) from 24 breeds and 9 forensic caseworks were genotyped using Sequenom technology. The results showed a call rate close to 100%, evidencing a high performance of this technology. The number of monomorphic loci, filtered by MAF
