KINETIC STUDY OF THE EXTRACTION OF Li FROM β-SPODUMENE WITH HF IN A CLOSSED VESSEL

This work presents the results ofkinetic study of the dissolution ofβ-spodumene with HF in a closed vessel with 100 ml of capacity made in PVC. The parameters studied were: temperature (between 5 and 35°C) and reaction time (1 to 30 min). Reagents and products were X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the dissolution of the mineral increases with increasing temperature and reaction time. The model that best fits the experimental data is: . This model represents the observed in the characterization studies of the mineral.
