Resumen:
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted from several industrial processes are an important class of air pollutant. Particularly, printing industries employ two of these VOCs, namely ethanol and / or ethyl acetate as solvent. Therefore, its emissions to air must be treated. Catalytic combustion is one of the most developed methods to destroy this type of VOCs [1]. There is a continuous effort in the research of new catalytic materials, searching for catalyst of low cost and with high activity at low temperature. Recently, efficient catalysts of Mn and Cu have been developed [2, 3]. The objective of this contribution is to present a kinetic study of ethanol combustion on a MnCu catalyst with the aim of attains its reaction rate expressions and kinetic parameters.
