Resumen:
We have had the opportunity to design and implement training courses based on Physics Education Research, as short professional development courses for high school teachers and physics faculty [1]. The main objective of this practical course is to provide the in-service teachers a first contact with an active learning teaching strategy. The courses have been implemented in two countries: Chile and Mexico. This work will present the structure of these short professional development courses as well as some results in their implementation not only as to introduce teachers to active learning strategies but also as to their use as a learning environment.
