Resumen:
Quorum sensing (QS) is a bacteria communication system which influences the expression of diverse phenotypes, including biofilm formation, via specific chemical compounds called autoinducers (AI). Yersinia enterocolitica (Ye) produces AI, two N-acil-homoserin lactones. The aim of this work was to investigate the effect of the alkaloid oliveridina on the AI synthesis. The biosensor Chromobacterium violaceum (Cv) was used. A 2 µl aliquot of an overnight culture with and without 35.6 µM oliveridine were seed onto Cv- tripticase soy (TY) agar and cultured at 25°C 24 h. Reverse thin layer chromatography were performed with an extract of Ye supernatant and revealed with Cv-TY. In both cases a significant reduction on AI synthesis was observed. Oliveridine inhibit QS system and could be used in future as anti-biofilm compound.
