Resumen:
This paper presents an experimental tank systemdeveloped at the National University of San Juan for processcontrol education. This plant is based on the quadrupletank,which is a multivariable laboratory plant of interconnectedtanks that can be easily configured to exhibit the effect ofnon linear dynamics, saturation, constraints, etc. on the systembehavior.In the implementation, the original structure of the processhas been modified to offer a wide variety of uses for botheducational and research purposes. Different plants can beconfigured such as one single tank, two or three cascadedtanks. The dynamics parameters of each tank can be set upby tuning the cross-section of the outlet hole of the tank.Furthermore, the real plant has been implemented usingcomputer vision and a PIC controller for the low level control.Supervision and control of the plant is carried out usingMatlab.
