Mineral association in vesicles from Mesozoic basalts of Yeruá, province of Entre Ríos, Argentina: In this abstract, a preliminary mineralogical-compositional characterization of the mineral phases present in vesicles of basalts from two perforations in a quarry near Puerto Yeruá (Entre Ríos, Argentina) is presented. XRD and SEM-EDS analyses were performed. Calcite, quartz, zeolites and smectites were recognized as the main hydrothermal phases filling cracks and vesicles. According to the morphological-chemical characterization, zeolites could correspond to clinoptilolite-Ca/heulandite-Ca series with minor chabazite, while smectite to a ferrosaponite.
