Resumen:
Las Diaguitas y El Cantadero are two tungsten occurrences form Velasco range, La Rioja province, Argentina. They are hydrothermal deposits with vein-type morphology being the quartz the main mineral of the veins. The host-rock in Las Diaguitas is Carboniferous porphyroid granite without signs of deformation and gneiss is the host-rock in El Cantadero. According to the X-ray diffraction studies on wolframite, a hübnerite45-85 composition for great idiomorphic crysts of 2 to 5 cm from Las Diaguitas, and hübnerite45-52 and almost pure hübnerite composition for small crysts of 1 to 2 cm from the same occurrence are inferred. Two small crysts of wolframite from El Cantadero occurrence had given different results, being one of them Fe-bearing (hübnerite18-25) and the other one Mn-bearing (hübnerite72-75)
