Resumen:
Cow milk´s allergy is the most common food allergy. Ppreliminary studies showed that 70% of patients older than 1 yo, with rectal bleeding and nontumoral colorectal polyps, showed high levels of serum milk-specific IgE. In this studies we aimed to characterize the mucosa of polyps.Resected polyps and surrounding mucosawere studied (n=30). by histopathology (H&E), inmunofluorescence (confocal microscopy) and RT-qPCR for several immune markers. In addition, cytokines were assessed by CBA and ELISA and peripheral and mucosal T cells were isolated and cloned. We found that in 25 patients with increased serum specific IgE levels, the stroma of polyps showed a cellular infiltrate composed of eosinophils, mast cells, IgE secreting plasma cells, ST2+ and IL-33+ cells. Colonic sorrounding tissue showed fewer frequencies of IgE+ cells (30±15 cells vs 2±1 polyps vs mucosa,). Besides, we found a significant higher expression of il-4, il-33, st2s (P
