Resumen:
Larrea divaricata exerts a dual effect on the proliferation of BW5147 cells. The aim of thiswork was to analyze the effect of leukotrienes on the antiproliferative action of the extract inrelation to cyclic adenosine monophosphate production and protein kinase C activation. Theextracts induced cyclic adenosine monophosphate and inhibited protein kinase C but inducedleukotriene B4 production, which exerted contrary effects. These results suggest the finding ofan extract free of compounds, which can increase leukotriene B4 level, in order to obtain a moreactive extract to be used in the treatment of lymphomas, positively modulated by leukotrienes.
