Resumen:
A comparative study of techniques to obtain Nickel Boride catalysts, involving a three-stage mechanism, using the complex Borane-THF as reducing agent; is presented. Catalysts were prepared varying the aggregation state of the nickel salt. In the "Heterogeneous Preparation", the nickel salt was added in the solid state. The effect of different operative parameters on these catalysts, such as adding order, salt particle size and time before use, were studied. The borides synthesized by the "Homogeneous Preparation" were obtained using methanol nickel salt solution. The catalysts characterization indicates that in all cases amorphous materials are obtained, with reproducible elemental composition and uniform distribution of particle size of the nanometers order. The catalysts obtained with both techniques showed to be active in the liquid phase nitrobenzene hydrogenation.
