Resumen:
Polymers modified by the introduction of inorganic species have been intensely studied, especially in the last years with the development of polymer nanocomposites that in general present enhanced material properties. The knowledge of material behavior to facilitate its processability is one of the main aspects of research which involve the evaluation of rheological properties. These properties are highly sensitive to the state of dispersion and the nature of particle/polymer and particle/particle interactions. In this work several HDPE/clay hybrids were prepared using montmorillonite clay as inorganic filler. The aim of the present study is to investigate whether the rheological behavior of these hybrids is affected by the chemical treatment of montmorillonite with different siloxanes.
