Synthesis of N-hydroxyalkylamine derivatives with potential pharmacological activity

AbstractIn the last years, novel examplesappeared about nonconventional processes catalyzed by lipases. They displayedremarkable activities in unexpected reactions such as carbon?heteroatombond-formation. In this work, our main findings in the enzymatic synthesis of alkanolamideswill be described, highlighting the catalytic properties of lipases to catalyzenonconventional reactions of amines with ethyl esters or directly withcarboxylic acids. Through these reactions we have prepared a variety of amides:acrylamides 1 (10 products) ; endocannabinoids2 (20 products) ; phenylacetamides3 (15 products) and capsaicinoids 4 (11 products).
