Abstract In this paper, a typical nonlinear boundary value problem (NBVP) which arise as a mathematical descriptive model of several cases regarding catalytic chemical reactor desing was considered. For such NBVP, a well known result on existence and uniqueness of solution was analized from a point of view concerning parametric dependence. Then, in order to provide sufficient conditions to have a unique solution, some results on parametric restriction were obtained. A number of NBVP  were solved as trial ilustrative examples. As an special situation, the asymptotic case of a low thermicity process is also discussed.
