Resumen:
Functional materials can be immobilized into calciumalginate beads for water treatments1. One of thealternatives consists in the encapsulation of LayeredDouble Hydroxide (LDH) in beads of hydrogel ofpolyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and sodium alginate (AS) forthe removal of contaminants in water, among otherapplications2. In this study, LDH-PVA/AS beads weresynthesized through immobilization of Mg-Al LDH intoAS beads blending with PVA and characterized bythermal analysis and swelling.
