Resumen:
The feasibility for intensifying heterogeneous Fenton-type (HFT)catalysts is explored through the use of tailored supports toprovide enhanced dispersion and utilization of active sites.Synthesis of Prussian Blue (PB) NPs, dispersed on highlystructured TiO2 (rutile) scaffolds, is presented, along with theircharacterization and evaluation in the HFT oxidation of Orange G.Catalytic experiments were conducted in a thermostated recyclefixed bed reactor under darkness conditions. From liquid flowrates of 11.5 ml/min and on, external mass transport resistancesare not significant. Under the studied operating conditions, the PBNPs clearly promote H2O2 decomposition and colour removal. OGadsorption on support and catalyst can be considered negligible.Neither H2O2 decomposition nor colour removal is affected by TiO2support. No significant morphology differences between the freshand the used catalysts were appreciated.
