Resumen:
ABSTRACT Basing us on previous studies on the pentacyanonitrosylmetallates whose thermal decomposition some times gives place to different oxides, it was decided to use them as raw material for the synthesis of such mixed oxides as FeMnO3. For it, the compound Mn[Fe(CN)5NO].2H2O was chosen. Their synthesis was carried out based on the literature [1]. The decomposition of Mn[Fe(CN)5NO].2H2O was studied by Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and Thermogravimetric (TG-DTG) under air atmosphere, between room temperature and 1200°C. IR spectroscopy, and powder XRD refined by Rietveld analysis were used to follow the decomposition process. The DRX of the sample heated at different temperatures showed the following products: Fe3C, MnxFe3-xO4, (Mn,Fe)2O3 and other smaller phases that they go evolving with the temperature until arriving to the final product, MnFeO3.  TPR and EDX analyses were used for the characterization, as well.
