Resumen:
Online quality control and continuous process monitoring has received increased attention, mainly to decrease production times, to prevent product rejections and to improve efficiency. Manufacturing process frecuently requires the ongoing physicochemical analysis of the product. Pharmaceutical drugs characterization can be performed by several analytical techniques. There is no single best method in all cases, thus, the selection depends on the property studied. In recent times spectroscopies have considerably been employed. Infrared spectroscopy coupled to attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR), near infrared (NIR) and Raman, are major techniques applying in green analytical chemistry, being non-destructive, not producing hazardous waste and permitting direct measurement of untreated samples.Tioconazole, is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent against dermatophytes and yeasts of the genus Candida. It is indicated for the topical treatment of superficial mycoses, and also for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis; however, there is no literature that describes its complete identification and characterization. The aim of this work is to achieve an identification and exhaustive characterization of tioconazole, using different analytical techniques.
