Resumen:
Quindoline (Figure 1) is one of several alkaloids isolated from Cryptolepis sanguinolenta (Lindl.) Schltr (Figure 2). This is a medicinally useful climbing shrub native to West and Central Africa. This particular molecule belongs to the indoloquinoline family, which comprises heterocycles characterized by having fused indole and quinoline rings. The biological activity of the different indoloquinoline alkaloids, their analogues and derivatives, has been reported in several works, the most relevant for our interest being the antitumor and antiparasitic ones.
