The NaH-promoted tandem Michael addition/intramolecular HornerWittig reaction of bis(diphenylphosphinoylmethyl) sulfide with chalcones afforded 3,4-dihydro-2H-thiopyrans 3al in 7888% yield.H-thiopyrans 3al in 7888% yield.
