Resumen:
In this work the problem of regulating glycemiain type I diabetic patients is studied by means of a novel impulsivezone model predictive control. According to the controlobjective of steering the system to an arbitrary desired targetset, weak stability is demonstrated based on a novel dynamiccharacterization of two underlying discrete-time subsystemsof the original impulsive system. To evaluate the proposedstrategy, a new patient model is used. A long-term scenario- including meals - is simulated, and the results appear to besatisfactory as long as every hyperglycemia and hypoglycemiaepisodes are suitably controlled/minimized.
