Formalization of Transformations for the Modeling of Complex Data Relations

The development process of the information systems has to deal with very complex problems which are not clearly defined, those are good reasons to manage that process by means of tools that support it. Nowadays there exist tools that help in the automation of the software development based on relational technology under the SQL:92 standard, but not under the SQL:2003 standard. In this article we present a set of QVT transformations to perform a systematic transformation of a conceptual model (UML class diagram) into an ORDB schema (SQL:2003 standard). This step is fundamental to reach the objective of developing a tool to assist in the design of complex information systems in compliance with the specifications of the SQL:2003 standard.
