Resumen:
We describe the dynamic of TNF, IFNG and IL6 gene expression regarding molecular response to imatinib at different time points under therapy. Besides the direct action of imatinib targeting BCR-ABL1, emerging evidences suggest that it may also influence the anti-tumor response, restoring the effector-mediated immune surveillance. To our knowledge, there are no previous articles focused on addressing this issue by cytokine gene expression on the same sample used to monitor %BCR-ABL1 in CML patients under imatinib. Furthermore, longitudinal studies are missing and previous approaches are heterogeneously designed. We could observe that the dynamic of the expression of these effector cytokines is consistent with a period of immunosuppression at diagnosis with an increase at 3 months of TNF and IL6 gene expression, allowing the differentiation of early responders.
