These samples were sent for their analysis by Dra. Nora Maidana (PI PASADO project) with the purpose of verifying the presence of siliceous microremains and particularly phytoliths, as this way also of knowing the potentials turned out that might be obtained by this approach in the Potrok Aike Lakesedimentary sequence analysis. In these preliminary analyses the phytolith became principal emphasis and other studies microremains types (Maidana et al., 2005; Wille et al., 2007) were excluded.
