Resumen:
In this article we investigate the contributions made by the art professor Alejandro Gavriloff (1914-1993), based on his artistic work which illustrated scientific publications in the field of natural sciences and natural history. In particular, we present the seven paintings in watercolors made by him that show representations of living fauna based on fossil Cenozoic record. The paintings are part of the collection of the Municipal Museum of Natural Sciences "Carlos Ameghino" (Mercedes, province of Buenos Aires). For years, the work carried out by Alejandro Gavriloff helped to interpret the skeletal elements exhibited in that institution, giving life to the extinct fauna of the region, allowing to visualize examples of the past life of our planet.
